Australian Cattle Dog
Origin: Australian Cattle Dogs are amazing. They are both intelligent and long-lived. They were bred in Australia when cattle herders struggled to manage unruly cattle. A man named Thomas Hall crossed blue merle smooth Highland Collies with dingoes to create a breed known as "Hall’s Heelers." Later, they were crossed with Bull Terriers to enhance their aggression and then with Dalmatians to enable them to run long distances and keep up with horse-drawn carriages. In 1980, they were recognized by the American Kennel Club. An Australian Cattle Dog named Bluey lived from 1910 to 1939, earning the World Record for the longest canine lifespan.
